Let’s discover how Grant Cardone built his empire!

Early Life

At 25, he was in rehab for drug addiction and without a job. By 30, he had already made his first million dollars. But, how did the transition happen?

In one of his books, Be Obsessed or Be Average, Grant does a stellar job of summarizing his childhood, upbringing, and early life . He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on March 21, 1958, to Curtis Louis Cardone and Concetta Neil Cardone. He has a twin brother named Gary and was the fourth of five children.

After losing his father to a heart attack, Grant had no male figure to look up to anymore. As a result, his teenage years were marred with drugs and alcohol. In and out of school due to detention and suspensions, Grant managed to graduate from high school. He later went on to graduate from McNeese State University in 1981.

Spectacular Career

After college, he chose not to pursue his original field of accounting and moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1987 to work for a sales training company.

He started to see results and went from making $3,000 a month to $6,000 a month in his commission-based job. As a result by 30, the entrepreneur had notched his first million. Real Estate Empire

At 29, he ventured into the estate business. Hence, he bought a single-family property in Houston that initially did well. However, after a few months, the tenants left, and Cardone’s cash flow dried up. After that, Cardone’s second acquisition did not take place until five years later, in 1987. His first multi-family property deal was a 38-unit complex in San Diego which he acquired for $1.9 million, making a down payment of $350,000.
